In 1903, two brothers, Justus and Fritz Miller, began casting furniture fittings in Bankeryd. They were skilled craftsmen and carefully ensured that the fittings they supplied were of the highest quality. Today, over 110 years later, the company focuses on bathroom furniture and bathroom accessories. The family is still just as interested in delivering quality things that will last both the eye and the test of time.
Over the years, the business has developed from supplying durable fittings, to focusing solely on bathroom furniture and bathroom accessories. To customers in both Scandinavia and England. The bathroom furniture is assembled by hand in Bankeryd so that Miller can guarantee high quality in both execution and delivery.
Miller is today a family business in the fifth generation. We can thank the brothers Justus and Fritz Miller for that. Or maybe their father, because it was in their father's gunsmith's shop in Printzeryd outside Bankeryd in northern Småland that the brothers started casting furniture fittings. The year was 1903 and very soon they outgrew the smithy and moved into Bankeryd where a large and "modern" factory was built by the railway, actually in the same place where Millers is still located today.
In 1936, son Einar took over the business. When Einar's son Birger in turn took over at the end of the 1960s, parts were manufactured for Volvo's sports car P1800 but also grills for the other Swedish car manufacturer SAAB. Other products included the popular TV jug – and gold-plated Cobra-style telephones for the Shah of Iran.
At the beginning of 1980, the in-house production of fittings was stopped and the focus was on wholesale - but also on bathrooms. Birger's son Christer had discovered that the English market suffered a great shortage of beautiful bathroom furniture and decided to meet that need.
Self-designed bathroom collections and accessories quickly became popular in the British Isles and in 1987 Christer was able to return to Sweden and Bankeryd to take over the operations of Bröderna Miller.
