A tour of

Villa Fritzell

Close to the archipelago of Stockholm, high up on a hill, lies Villa Fritzell. An unusual house on stilts with a focus on nature and the mountain. They selected Miami accessories in brushed nickel for their bathrooms.

"We decided on a house on stilts because we wanted to preserve the rock that our plot consisted of. Partly because of its beauty and potential, but also for economic reasons. Blasting the rock would have been very expensive, and the house would have ended up at the lowest point of the plot. We wanted to rise above and enjoy the view of the surrounding tree canopies and Drevviken in Sweden. We wanted to spend our money on designing a house that highlighted the best of the given conditions, and even improved them.

Now that the house is completed, we can say it was the right decision. We have a magical view of the lake and tree canopies, a fantastic terrace, and a whole garden beneath the house. All the beautiful trees have survived the construction, and it feels as though we have doubled our outdoor space."

"When we designed our bathrooms, we chose to view them as the heart of the home - beautiful rooms with a connection to nature, a peaceful space for relaxation and enjoyment."

"The focus was on elegance, and we chose a design with simple yet refined details of high quality. The obvious choice was Miller Bathrooms' Sky High and Sky Higher wall cabinets. The sense of craftsmanship - the weight of the mirrored doors, the smoothness of the hinges, the delicate attachment of the glass shelves - is in a league of its own."

"In our case, it is nature that is reflected, and we are very happy to be able to combine its beauty with functional storage."

"The beauty of the product and its large storage capacity are hard to match, as its mirrored doors extend all the way up to the ceiling."

"It’s a smart solution as the placement of the cabinets above the sink protects them from water and extends their lifespan. For us as architects, the mirrors on the cabinets offer an opportunity to play with the room's perspective. By placing several cabinets in a row, we can create the illusion of a much larger space and reflect what is beautiful. The ability to reflect the room makes the cabinet timeless, with its ability to adapt to any interior."
